Local Rules for Gas and Diesel 2008 All GL General Rule’s apply to every contestant.. All pulling vehicles, gas or diesel must have current registration, and insurance. Current Plates and insurance will be verified to the vehicle via your ownership. No dealer plates or trip permits. Must be road worthy and be able to pass a Vehicle Safety Inspection. All pullers must run a DOT approved helmet and there is a zero tolerance to alcohol both as a fuel and a drink! You will not be allowed to pull if either of these is suspected. No race fuels or additives allowed. No fuels other than pump gas or pump diesel. No pressurized fuels or oxidizers of any kind. This includes alcohol, water, propane, nitrous and oxygen. If we smell it or even suspect any of the above, you’re disqualified – period! Maximum hitch hooking height 22” measured from ground to the upper inside of the hook ring and hook at the rear most part of the vehicle. Hitch must be secure and solid in all directions. All added weight must be behind the cab and must be secured. No fabricated (factory made only) snowplow harnesses, or weighted/filled hollow or solid plate steel bumpers allowed. Properly mounted winches are allowed. All trucks must run stock production engine components for a 1 ton or smaller North American built vehicle. Engine components including blocks, heads, turbo, injector pump and injectors (where applicable) for the year and model of vehicle the engine was in production for. All exhaust must go through a muffler. If any of these after markets parts are used- single carburetor, headers, intake, cam, ignition, diesel boxes, performance chips, or the computer or injector pump has been altered in any way from factory settings. YOU MUST RUN SAFETY EQUIPMENT. All rules in the prior paragraphs still apply. Tires larger in size than stamped 33’s or measured 31 inches tall, then YOU MUST RUN SAFETY EQUIPMENT. All tires must be in good roadworthy condition and stamped DOT. If there are any suspension (including traction bars), or body alterations YOU MUST RUN SAFETY EQUIPMENT. No air shocks or blocks allowed making the suspension rigid. It must be a working suspension and be able to move at all times. Safety equipment required: All U joints must be fully covered with a minimum of ¼ steel or 3/8 aluminum. At least 1 drive shaft loop per drive shaft. The violation of intent of a rule will be considered a violation of the rule itself. Questions about the intent or meaning of a rule may be addressed to the GLTTPA Head Tech Official or a member of the GLTTPA Executive. The Head Tech Official will always have the final decision.
